    SOUTH WEST SPORTS BOAT GROUP
    Rally Registration & Application

    About you
Just a rough number so we know how many people to expect.
Just useful to gauge how many children to expect.
    About your boat:
This is so we can gauge the pontoon usage.
VHF radios aren't necessary, but might be useful to know.

Please Read and Sign. Details of how to pay will pop up once the form has been submitted.
All personal information such as names, email addresses or other contact information, is used by the Coordinators for the Rally only. Personal information is not shared with any other group or organisation. Coordinators never ask for sensitive information.
Please let us know if you have any concerns over providing your personal information. If you do not want your mobile number to be used as part of the Rally WhatsApp group, please circle "NO" here.
Any activities that are suggested by Participants are, of course, subject to prevailing weather conditions.
This Rally is not a commercial venture and there are no membership fees. The Co-ordinators therefore, cannot accept any liability for losses of any kind that might be incurred either during the rally or as a result of cancellation.
It is up to Participants to arrange accommodation, travel and launching of your vessel. We hope that we can all assist each other in the unlikely event of any difficulties, but we cannot guarantee there will be someone on hand to help.
Registration is subject to acceptance by the Co-ordinators and receipt of the registration fee:
£30 standing cost (reduced to £20 if paid by 31st December 2025) plus £7.50 per metre for all 3 nights.
Unless we are able to book the pontoon space to someone else, this is non-refundable.

The Co-ordinators book the pontoon for the benefit of those who choose to come by securing berthing at a very generous discount. There is no legal liability for the Co-ordinators whose role is purely to facilitate the MDL pontoon.
Each skipper or helm must have, as a minimum, competence in boat handling and associated skills. They must ensure the sea worthiness of their boat and be appropriately equipped for all likely conditions. They must satisfy themselves as to the capabilities of their crew and any guests. The skipper must assume liability for themselves, their crew and guests, whether afloat or ashore.
During the rally, there are activities suggested by the Participants. There is no compulsion to take part in any of the activities and the decision is yours, taking into account your capability and that of your crew or guests, the weather conditions and anything else that may influence your decision on whether to take part.
To reiterate: the ultimate decision to take part in any activity is up to you, your crew and your guests.
Prior to the Rally, you must provide the Co-ordinators with a copy of your insurance schedule showing that you have Public Liability insurance covering the use of your boat for all the days of the Rally. Such insurance must have a minimum indemnity limit of £3,000,000. If your current insurance expires during the Rally, please also send a copy of the renewal schedule to the Co-ordinators. If the Co-ordinators do not have evidence of the appropriate insurance cover in place for the period of the Rally, your boat will not be able to berth and no refund will be issued.
Participants may offer advice or help with your boat. They are not professional instructors and how you use that advice is ultimately down to each individual. This includes any help or advice offered regarding slipways, launch & recovery and trailer parking.

SWSBG means the South West Sports Boat Group.
Participants are members of SWSBG who have applied to join the Rally.
Rally The Rally is a meeting for Participants - a friendly meet-up of like-minded boaters, for the enjoyment of the participants, to meet and sail in company and, where relevant, gain experience.  The Rally is based at MDL Marina, Visitors Pontoon, Torquay, Devon, commencing at 12 noon on Friday 22nd May 2026 and ending at 12 noon on Monday 25th May 2026.
Co-ordinators are Participants, who have co-ordinated communications relating to the Rally and have organised marina berths for the use of Participants. This is the limit of responsibility of the Co-ordinators.

    The Co-ordinators are:-

    • Nick Taylor
    • Sue Weston

Events are suggested recreational activities taking place during the Rally. The choice of activities will be determined by Participants from suggestions made during or prior to the Rally. There is no obligation to take part in any of the activities.
